David A. Scott

David Scott serves as the Arizona Market President for First Western Bank & Trust, where he leads strategic direction, business development, and community partnerships. With more than 20 years in commercial banking, David brings a proven history of launching and growing successful banking divisions, building high-performing teams, and fostering value-driven workplace cultures. His leadership is rooted in strategy, trust, and genuine relationships.

David has helped establish and grow commercial banking offices across the country, holding key leadership roles at Meadows Bank, JPMorgan Chase, and Bank of the West/BNP Paribas. He has deep expertise in credit, treasury management, regulatory risk, and client relationship development, serving companies ranging from small family-owned businesses to public, global companies. But what drives him most is building strong teams, lasting relationships, and creating real impact in the communities he serves.

David serves on the boards of Junior Achievement of Arizona (where he also chairs the Stock Market Challenge event committee), Million Dollar Teacher Project, Mesa Veterans Center and the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce. He is co-chair of the Mesa Chamber of Commerce’s Community Action Partnership and serves on the Campus Council at Central Christian Church in Mesa. He works closely on Valley Leadership’s community programs, directing efforts in education and housing. As leader of VL’s Early Literacy Team, David launched the Leaders for Literacy program which partners with school districts and volunteers across Maricopa County to enhance literacy training for elementary school teachers. As a lifelong champion of wellness, health and education, David shares a strong connection with the mission of WHEN.
